Eating Disorders
Eating disorders are about so much more than food. They’re often rooted in deeper feelings about control, self-worth, pain, or identity. If you’re struggling with your relationship with food or your body, you deserve support that sees the whole person, not just the behaviour.
It’s about so much more than food
Understanding eating difficulties
Eating disorders can take many forms. Restricting, bingeing, purging, over-exercising, or a constant, exhausting preoccupation with food, weight, or body image. They often start as a way of coping with something difficult, but over time they can take on a life of their own.
You might feel ashamed or embarrassed about your eating patterns. You might not even feel like your struggles are serious enough to warrant help. But if food and your body are causing you distress, that’s enough of a reason to reach out.
How therapy can help
In our sessions, we won’t focus on meal plans or weight. Instead, we’ll explore what’s underneath. The feelings, experiences, and beliefs that are driving your relationship with food. I’ll meet you with compassion, not judgement.
Recovery isn’t a straight line, and I won’t expect you to have it all figured out. What matters is that you have a safe space to talk honestly about what you’re going through, and someone who genuinely cares.
